THE PRODUCER
ARJAN DEELEN
Arjan Deelen (1968) is the producer of THE ELVIS CONCERT, the only touring theater production featuring Elvis Presley’s original musicians. This remarkable show has been a success throughout Europe ever since its inception in 2009. This show offers a fresh look at Presley, in that it’s not an impersonation – the focus is firmly on the music that changed the world and shaped a generation.
Since 1994, Deelen has booked shows for artists like Imelda May, The Sweet Inspirations, Barrence Whitfield and the Savages, Matchbox, Barcelona Gypsy Balkan Orchestra, Darrel Higham, Marco DiMaggio, Robert Gordon, Chris Spedding, Paul Ansell’s Number Nine, Graham Fenton, The Velvet Candles, Toini & The Tomcats, Boyd Small Band and Monti Amundsen.
Deelen has written numerous articles for publications like “Elvis – The Man And His Music” and “Now Dig This”, on favorite artists like Screamin’ Jay Hawkins, Nikki Hill, Brian Setzer, Omar & The Howlers, Jerry Lee Lewis, Robert Gordon and Link Wray.
He’s written five successful books on Presley: “Elvis: Caught In A Trap” (2002), “Walk A Mile In My Shoes” (2012), “Inside Elvis” (2019), “Guaranteed To Blow Your Mind” (2022) and “Destination Lousiville” (2024), and has assisted Sony & FTD on various of their Elvis releases, including “Elvis At Stax”, “Sold Out!”, “Off / On Stage”, “Destination USA”, “Closing Night”, the “Elvis That’s The Way It Is” box-set and “Las Vegas Hilton 1973”.
He also runs the specialist record labels Climate Control and Growlin’ Guitar.
