“Elvis is back in the building!!”

BIO

‘As close as it gets’
ELVIS THE CONCERT is a celebration of the music of Elvis Presley. All the hits, but also the beautiful gospels and the nice B-sides are discussed. The show is a musical journey that will take you back to Elvis’ heyday. Hits like “Hound Dog”, “Devil In Disguise” and “Burning Love” sound fresher than ever, thanks to the top cast of musicians from all over the world. With Dwight Icenhower at the helm, and the original musicians alongside, the illusion is complete: This is as close as it gets. An unforgettable experience that has been bringing audiences into ecstasy for years, also in the Netherlands. This show is rightly called ‘the best Elvis show after Elvis’. If you want to experience the magic of Elvis live, you should not miss this beautiful show. Elvis is back in the building!!

The popularity of the late, great King of Rock & Roll is still unparalleled. The recent Baz Luhrmann film “Elvis” (2022) was hugely successful in the cinemas, and it continues to do remarkably well on HBO. Presley’s family and his home Graceland are still regularly in the news. And his many hits like “Suspicious Minds” and “Always On My Mind” are raking in huge numbers on Spotify and other streaming services. No question about it: The King lives!

‘As close as it gets’
This is also exemplified by the success of the remarkable “Elvis The Concert” theater production, which has rocked European audiences since 2009. This is currently one of the most successful Elvis show around, and also the only touring show to feature his original musicians. The focus is firmly on the music, from his earliest recordings at Sun Records right up to the final recordings at his Graceland mansion in late ’76 – all performed with passion and authenticity.

Lead-singer is the phenomenal DWIGHT ICENHOWER, who has both the looks, the voice and the charisma of The King. Seeing Dwight Icenhower in action is as close as it gets to experiencing the magic of Elvis Presley live in concert. Dwight is widely regarded as “The world’s best Elvis Tribute Artist”, and indeed he’s won the world championship title four times already in Memphis. Icenhower is also officially recognized by Graceland (EPE), and they regularly use him for their Elvis events. Dwight also turns up in commercials often, including one for Apple that was seen by more than a billion people.

‘One handshake away from the King!’
What also makes this show so unique is the fact that several of Elvis’ friends and original musicians are part of the cast. Backing vocalist JIM MURRAY was one of Elvis’ favorite singers, and after shows he would often ask Jim to sing a couple of gospel songs. For this show, Jim will recreate those special moments for the audience… Goosebumps guaranteed! Murray worked together with Elvis from 1966 to ’72, and you can hear his beautiful tenor voice on many studio- and live-recordings from that era. You can also see Jim in the concert movie “Elvis – That’s The Way It Is” from 1970.

Jim will bring his wife BRENDA MURRAY NIELSEN, who was a friend of Elvis’ for many years. She met him at a gospel concert in 1960, and was subsequently invited to Graceland. Brenda stayed friends with him right up to the end, and she has many great stories, some of which she will tell on stage, and after the show at the Meet & Greet.

Behind the drums we have another true giant: BOB LANNING, whose unique style of drumming can be heard on Elvis classics like “Polk Salad Annie” and “The Wonder Of You”. Bob was immortalized on “On Stage, February 1970” which is widely regarded as Presley’s finest live-album. Lanning performed 63 shows together with Presley, in Las Vegas and in Houston.

After the show, there’s a Meet & Greet where you can have your own special moment with these legends, for a chat or a photo. As one fan put it: ‘One handshake away from the King!’.

‘The best Elvis show after Elvis’
THE ELVIS CONCERT is a one-of-a-kind celebration of Elvis Presley’s unforgettable music. You will hear the hits, but also his gorgeous gospels, as well a couple of those cool B-sides.
